In case you haven’t heard of the raging new Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why, look it up on Netflix now and binge the whole first season.

It is a highly emotional and thought provoking series that has been released for about three weeks now, but it seems everybody is already talking about it.

The series are based off the book by Jay Asher

and is about a young girl in high school that commits suicide but leaves behind thirteen tapes to explain why she killed herself.

Each tape is directed at a certain person and as each of the tapes get passed on to the next person on the list, relationships and lives are ruined while they try to understand what happened.

If you are in your teenage stage of life this series will mainly appeal to you. The series is specifically targeting high school and middle school ages since suicide is the most common form of death among them.

In today’s society, bullying and mistreatment of so many people should be called to attention more and that is what this series aims to do. If you or a loved one are suicidal maybe this series will help you see past that and help you become a stronger individual.

In case you didn’t know this, Selena Gomez was the driving force behind the adaptation of this series.

With her help and others, they produced a high-quality series with mainly new faces. They didn’t cast popular or famous actors but instead introduced a new cast, which added a lot to the series and is one of the main reasons why it is so remarkable.

Throughout the series, it will cause you to go through a range of emotions and think about the relationships you have.

The people you surround yourself with have more of an impact on you than you might think. This series shows a big connection between the main character and her relationships and how they affected her.

This show opened my eyes to see the reality of suicide and how it is very real today. I hope those that take my suggestion and watch the series on Netflix have as much of an emotional connection and eye opening experience as I did.
